Bankura Banga Vidyalay, established in 1825, stands as one of the oldest and most esteemed educational institutions in the Bankura region. Originally founded as the “Sitanath Chakraborty Pathshala”, known at that time as the Bangla School, it began its journey as a government-aided vernacular institution.

Situated in Machantola, Bankura, this co‑educational day school serves students from classes VI to XII, offering instruction in both Bengali and English mediums.

The Vocational Section offers Engg. & Tech. (CNMT) (X+) and EHMW (VIII+). The medium of instruction of this co-ed school is Bengali. Since its establishment in 1825 the school is devoted to excellence in teaching, learning and to promoting educational culture in the township surrounding it

Rules & Regulations

  • All the students should maintain discipline of the school.
  • The students should pay due respect and talk politely with the teachers, the staff and any other student of the school.
  • Students’ daily attendance is of utmost importance.
  • The monitress of each section will be attributed certain duties and responsibilities which she should perform.
  • Students should come to the school in neat and clean uniform.
  • No students should wear ornaments, watch or any such accessories in the school. The school authority will not be responsible for the loss of costly articles.
  • Presence of all the students in the school assembly is compulsory/mandatory. They should attend the assembly in proper discipline and decorum. Absence in the assembly will be considered absence in the school.
